Heavy instrumentation, electronic texture and rhythm that hits hard — the intensity of rock and metal, built with the energy of rap and electronic production.
A lifelong pursuit that started at eight: merging a percussionist’s discipline with a producer’s ear.
Dillon Lazo began his musical journey at the age of eight — the start of a lifelong pursuit to merge his passion for percussion with his interest in music production. His background as a percussionist continues to shape his approach to music making, with a distinctive sound that incorporates heavy instrumentation, electronic textures, powerful rhythmic elements and atmospheric production. He is particularly interested in combining the intensity of rock and metal with the energy and production techniques of rap and electronic music.
As a percussionist, Lazo has performed with marching bands, percussion ensembles, wind symphonies and wind bands. He has twice qualified for state-level competition and spent eight years as a marching snare drummer — a formative experience that shaped his technical ability, discipline, precision and understanding of ensemble performance. He has also DJed for local clubs, bars and weddings.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Music Production at McNeese State University, Lazo brings his knowledge of percussion into studios and concert halls, helping students and professionals craft a sound that reinforces their artistic vision. He hopes to one day open his own recording studio.
